Launch of the New Getty Provenance Index

Announcing the launch of the newly remodeled Getty Provenance Index! Now released as linked open data, powered by Arches, the new GPI presents over 12 million records regarding the ownership and transfer of art, with strong coverage in European and American paintings. This project is the result of decades of intensive data curation at Getty and promises to open up a whole new host of possibilities for advanced provenance research with relevance to art history, digital humanities, and data science.
