SCHOLARS data PROJECT

In 2025, four ARIAH member institutions contributed to a collective project to combine and analyze historical data about their scholars programs. The data story below reflects the history of these four major residential art history programs beginning in 1961. This project will continue to expand as other member programs contribute their data and the data is updated over time.

This data story is best viewed on a laptop or desktop computer in full screen mode (click on the framed square icon on the bottom right, next to the share icon). Viewers should use the numbered menu on the top to click through the story. Each visualization is interactive, with the ability to gain additional insights by filtering the data and hovering over the fields for more information. Documentation is provided in the final slide.
