The Paul Mellon Centre

The Paul Mellon Centre was established in 1970 through a gift made by Paul Mellon to Yale University. It aims to promote scholarship in British art and architecture through its library and archives, publications, Yale-in-London program, and in more recent years an ex-panded fellowship and grant-giving scheme. A variety of fellowships is available for both senior and junior scholars working in the fields of British art and architecture. All awards are competitive and are awarded annually on the basis of application. The fellowships are as follows: senior fellowships (up to twelve months), postdoctoral fellowships (three to six months), junior fellowships (up to three months), the Paul Mellon Centre Rome Fellowship (up to six months), and research travel grants. Applicants may be of any nation-ality and, with the exception of the junior fellowship, can be enrolled at any university. Applications must be received by January 15 for fellowships beginning the following academic year.
