| The
Wolfsonian-Florida Inter-national University promotes the examination
of modern material culture to enhance the understanding and appreciation
of objects as agents and reflections of social, political, and technological
change. The thrust of the Wolfsonian collection is on North American
and European decorative, propaganda, and fine arts of the period 1885–
1945. The collection includes furniture, paintings, sculpture, glass,
ceramics, books, and works on paper. Wolfsonian fellowships, currently
offered every other year, are granted on the basis of outstanding
professional or academic accomplishment and are limited to those holding
at least a master’s degree. Doctoral candidates are eligible to apply for dissertation research related to the Wolfsonian
collection. Appointments are generally for four weeks. The appli-cation deadline is December 31
for residency during the following academic year. |
