The National Museum of African Art offers graduate student, predoctoral, and postdoctoral fellowships in African art studies. Fellows have access to the museum’s collections: the Warren M. Robbins Library of 25,000 volumes devoted to Africa and the holdings of the Eliot Elisofon Photographic Archives, which contain more than 300,000 images. Preference is given to research projects that are particularly appropriate to the museum’s resources, collections, and staff. The application deadline is January 15 for awards beginning the following June 1.
