The arts of the ancient Near East, Islamic Near East, South and Southeast Asia, and Far East; American art (at the Freer) and conservation studies
   
The two national museums of Asian art offer graduate student, predoctoral, and postdoctoral fellowships in the arts of the ancient Near East, Islamic Near East, South and Southeast Asia, and Far East. Research in American art (at the Freer) and conservation studies is also supported. Fellows have access to the Freer/Sackler collections, library, archives, and laboratories. Preference is given to research projects that are particularly appropriate to the Freer/Sackler resources, collections, and staff. The application deadline is January 15 for awards beginning the following June 1.
